Good but not great Jan 12, 2009
By K. Hallam Like most all Kindle owners I quickly discovered that although the Kindle itself is great, the provided cover left much to be desired. After perusing the available covers several times, I finally settled on this one. I must confess, it is much classier and "rich looking" than I imagined it would be from the photos alone. The light is terrific- nice not to have to hassle with some third-party clip-on light, and the pen holder and notepad holder are great additions too. My one complaint is that sometimes it appears that the Kindle is not held in as securely as I'd like it to be. It seems that the tabs could have been a little smaller or somewhat closer together- providing a more secure fit. So far, my Kindle has stayed securely in place, so perhaps my concern is more personal imagination than fact. In any case, I'd reccomend this cover to anyone who likes the "Executive look" with the built-in light- the craftsmanship and convenience are well-worth the extra cost.

I've seen the light Apr 24, 2009
By JMZ I received a Kindle from my husband last year and I immediately loved it. I took it everywhere and thought I was in heaven, except for one annoying thing. I couldn't really read it at night. Even in a room with a lamp I just could not get comfortable. I looked around for a light that would solve the problem and only came across clip on lights, which I abhor. Then I found Periscope. They make book lights contained within book covers and they make them for every kind of book. Kindle included, thankfully. I bought it, slipped my Kindle into it, and have never looked back! It protects and lights my Kindle. It even includes a pad of paper for when I take notes. I can't say enough about this wonderfully elegant solution!

Great Idea! Apr 22, 2009

If you have a Kindle you need a cover and you need a light in order to fully enjoy the Kindle experience in low light situations. The Periscope solution is ingenious because it combines both in one package design! To the best of my knowledge (and research) this is the only product of its kind that provides both in one package. The LED light is contained in the spine of the cover, so it's tucked out of sight until it's needed. I recommend the Periscope unit to any Kindle owner. It's terrific!

Lifesaver Jun 25, 2009
By Patti1955 I am thrilled with my new Periscope for my Kindle. The book light is great. I travel most of the year. This is perfect for reading on those long night flights. And it's great for reading in bed. I like that the light adjust to different angles. And the note pad is a lifesaver, especially when everyone wants you to look up a book they just know you would enjoy. Write it down, look it up later. I only wish the corner holders for the Kindle were a little better quality/firmer. It doesn't hold it in place as well as my original case.

Booklight & cover Jan 27, 2011
By Ralph A. Simkins Good product however it needs some refinement. There is no way to secure the Kindle inside the cover. The Kindle fell out of the cover once, so I went to the local hardware store and purchased some velcro dots to secure it. I have had no problems since I did that.
