May as well use a ziplock Oct 31, 2011
By Cash Yes it's cheap, but a ziplock is cheaper! It keeps a kindle from getting wet however it is simply a heavyweight ziplock pouch. Easily gets marked up on outer surface so I decided to take it off on vacation and be careful.
Will do in a pinch... Dec 31, 2011
By Stevie While this beefed-up zip-loc bag has already saved my new Fire once, and I am grateful, I am less than impressed with it as a long term solution for keeping my Kindle safe from Me...and the bath water. My two complaints: first, the plastic...I think it is silicon...is easily scratched, both with small superficial scratches that cloud the surface of the container and distort the text underneath, and with deeper distortions caused from folding the container in half. And it wasn't really folded; I gently curved the extra plastic around the edge of the Kindle (I was given a size-too-large for my e-reader, and was trying to make the package easier to hold by simply folding the extra pouch to the back of the device.) It made a mark that looks like the kind of damage a harder plastic shows when it gets hit...clouded, almost cracked looking internally, but not damaged on the surface. My second problem: the manufacturer, Seattle Sports, imprinted their logo, probably about an inch across, directly on the front bottom of the pouch, and it significantly distorts the text on the reader underneath. Great for marketing, except it ruins the product.
I will use this pouch until I find a replacement, and then I will "reuse" it for some other purpose, in the best tradition of recycle, reuse, renew. It would work well for packing shampoo, etc. for TSA check-ins.

This product works fine. It has kept my Kindle nice and dry. My only complaints are that it is impossible to turn the Kindle on through the case and the imprinted logo makes the directional buttons hard to use. Other than those two things I had no complaints.
fits kobo Jul 20, 2011
By Seth's Mom I have yet to get this case wet, but it worked well at the beach today. The closure does not seem very tight, but I think it will get the job done if not completely submerged in water. It fits the kobo very nicely.
